Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful ensures that unnecessary waste is diverted from our landfill. Therefore, throughout the year we hold recycling/composting collections for the items listed below.

Special Recycling & Compost Collections

Pumpkin & Gourd Composting

Starting Saturday, November 1st and ending Sunday, December 7th we are accepting pumpkins and gourds for composting.

Candy Wrapper Recycling

Starting Tuesday, November 4th and ending Monday, December 1st we are collecting candy wrappers for recycling. 


Please bring your candy wrappers to any YMCA of Greater Toledo location.

Yard Sign Recycling

Starting Tuesday, November 4th and ending Monday, December 1st we are collecting yard signs for recycling. Drop off your yard signs at any of the City of Toledo Food Waste Drop Off locations:


Boat Shrink Wrap Recycling

Before setting sail, recycle your boat wrap! At our collection event, residents are invited to stop by and recycle their boat shrink wrap.


  • Tuesday May 6th, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful (1011 Matzinger Road, Toledo OH)
  • Tuesday May 19th, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful (1011 Matzinger Road, Toledo OH)
  • Saturday June 7th, 2025, from 9:00AM to 12:00 PM at Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful (1011 Matzinger Road, Toledo OH)

BOAT SHRINK WRAP WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

IF YOU HAVE NOT:

  • Bundled boat shrink wrap properly (watch shrink wrap recycling video to learn about proper bundling)


  • Removed nylon straps & any other non-shrink wrap materials from the boat shrink wrap you are recycling
