Recycling correctly keeps Lucas County's recycling contamination rate low, ensuring recycled items get recycled.

Curbside & Drop-Off Recycling
Follow the following rules when recycling in your curbside recycling bin.
RECYCLE the following items - make sure they are clean & dry:
Paper & Cardboard
Newspaper, magazines, flattened boxes, and unwanted mail.
Metal
Aluminum and steel cans.
Plastic Containers
Beverage containers, bottles, jugs, tubs.
Plastics 1,2,4,5, & 7 are accepted.
Glass
Bottles & jars.
Cartons
Milk, juice, and soup cartons.
DO NOT recycle the following items:
NO Plastic Bags
Do not bag your recyclables or put plastic bags/film in the recycling bin.
NO Clothing & Textiles
Donate unwanted clothing/textiles.
NO Electronics
Take electronics to a Clean Toledo event or contact Lucas Solid Waste Management District to recycle electronics.
