Recycle Correctly in Lucas County

Recycling correctly keeps Lucas County's  contamination rate low, ensuring recycled items get recycled. Recycling conserves natural resources, preserves precious landfill space, saves energy, reduces pollution, and supports local jobs and economy.


Recycling resources including the LC Recycles App and Lucas County Recycling Drop-Off sites are available to residents to improves recycling efforts locally.

Curbside & Drop-Off Recycling

Follow the following rules when recycling in your curbside recycling bin.

RECYCLE the following items - make sure they are clean & dry:

Paper & Cardboard


Newspaper, magazines, flattened boxes, and unwanted mail.

Metal


Aluminum and steel cans.

Plastic Containers


Beverage containers, bottles, jugs, tubs.

Plastics 1,2,4,5, & 7 are accepted.

Glass


Bottles & jars.

Cartons


Milk, juice, and soup cartons.

DO NOT recycle the following items:

NO Plastic Bags


Do not bag your recyclables or put plastic bags/film in the recycling bin.

NO Yard Waste & Grass


Mulch yard waste & grass clippings or take to Clean Toledo events.

NO Clothing & Textiles


Donate unwanted clothing/textiles.

NO Food Waste


Take your food waste to one of the Food Waste Drop-Offs.

NO Electronics


Take electronics to a Clean Toledo event or contact Lucas Solid Waste Management District to recycle electronics.

Lucas County Recycling Drop-Off Location Map
