Annual Special Recycling Collections

Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful is dedicated to ensuring that as much waste is diverted from our landfill as possible. Therefore, throughout the year we hold recycling/composting collections. Check out upcoming collections and any collection requirements below.

Properly Prepare Boat Shrink Wrap for Recycling

BOAT SHRINK WRAP WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

IF YOU HAVE NOT:

  • Bundled boat shrink wrap properly (watch shrink wrap recycling video to learn about proper bundling)


  • Removed nylon straps & any other non-shrink wrap materials from the boat shrink wrap you are recycling

Special Recycling Collections

  • Campaign Sign Recycling

    We collect campaign signs for recycling after elections day at various locations throughout Lucas County.

  • Candy Wrapper Recycling

    We collect candy wrappers for recycling starting in November right after Holloween. Candy Wrapper Recycling Collection boxes are located at all local YMCA's starting November 1st.

  • Holiday Light Recycling

    Holiday lights are considered e-waste and therefore can't be recycled in your curbside recycling.  We collect  holiday lights for recycling at drop-off locations throuout the winter.

  • Packaging Styrofoam Recycling

    In the past, Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful has collected packaging Styrofoam for recycling at special events throughout the year. Lott Industries is currently accepting packaging Styrofoam for recycling. Give Lott Industries a call at (419) 381-5200.


    No Styrofoam food containers will be accepted. 

  • Pumpkin Composting

    We collect pumpkinis and gourds at the beginning of November until the begining of December at compost bins located throughout Lucas County.
