According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the average child sees over 400,000 homicides on television by the time he or she reaches the age of 18.
The Victims Forum, a Juvenile Crime Prevention Program, introduces kids to the effects violence has on people in their own community.
This three-phased program began in April of 1996. Since its inception, the program has provided over 3000 presentations to over 124,000 people. Through a candid approach which describes the real life repercussions of violence, the program provides its audience a reality check on crime.
The mission of the Victims Forum is to reduce crime by re-sensitizing the children in our community to the long-lasting effects of violence.
