The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department Emergency Preparedness group is responsible for ensuring that the health department is prepared to respond to disasters and for coordinating health department disaster response activities. Currently, the health department is working with the communities emergency planners and responders to develop the necessary coordinated efforts that would be needed to protect the communities’ health. How the communities’ health will be affected during an emergency depends on the type and scope of disaster that has occurred.
